21 Percent IT Jobs in India at risk

Layoffs is the word that's been heard frequently in the recent past, particularly when an IT Firm takes a cost cutting measure or served pink slips based on performance. A recent study analyzed the sector which is going to get mostly affected by the lack of skilled work force in the next 5 years (till 2022).

As per FICCI report, IT leads with 21 percent Jobs in India at risk due to lack of skills required to handle the challenges. Anywhere between 20 to 35 percent of the Employees in the IT Sector will face maximum threats during this period. There will demand for Data Scientists, VFX Artists, Android Developer, Wireless Network Specialists and Data Architect.

While 9 percent of the current workforce will shift to fields which don't exist at present, 37 percent would be in sectors which are rapidly changing. Whereas, Remaining 54 percent of workforce will remain in the unchanged job category.

Technological Advancements will influence the jobs in Automobile, Textile and Retail Sectors. While 3D Printing Technicians & Vehicle Cyber-Security Experts have demand in Automobile Sector, E-Textile Specialists will be in demand in the Textile Sector.

About 24 percent of the workforce in India is dependent on Online Jobs. More jobs creation could be seen in this area due to the increase of internet usage.
