2,293 COVID-19 Cases Reported In India

India reported 2,293 positive cases of the novel coronavirus in the past 24 hours making it the highest single-day rise in the cases. With this the count reached 37,336 raising many fears and concerns. However, 71 have succumbed to the COVID-19 virus in the county taking the toll of the fatalities to 1,223

Maharashtra continues to be the worst-hit state in the country with the virus as the toll of the cases in the state surpassed 11,000-mark which is the highest for any state in India.

1,008 cases were reported in Maharashtra on Friday alone and out of them, more than 750 cases were reported from Mumbai city only. To date 106 patients ere discharged from the hospitals while 485 have succumbed to the virus in the state.

The national capital Delhi is also witnessing more and more cases of COVID-19 as the toll reached 3,738 with the 223 fresh cases reported on Friday. As of now, 1,167 patients have recovered in Delhi and discharged from the hospitals while 61 succumbed to the virus.

Andhra Pradesh reported 62 positive cases in the past 24 hours. With the fresh cases, the total count stood at 1523. To date, 441 persons managed to recover from the COVID-19 virus and got discharged from the hospitals accordingly. With this, the count of the active cases in the state stood at 1051.

Telangana reported six positive cases on Friday which takes the toll to 1044.22 patients were discharged from the hospitals, taking the recovered toll to 442 in the state.

Talking about the worldwide scenario the total count stood at 3,358,341, while 1,067,831 recovered from the fatal virus so far. To date 237,095 have succumbed to the COVID-19 virus.
