2.8 kgs gold seized from flight at Shamshabad

The Rajiv Gandhi International airport at Shamshabad has already gained notoriety for smuggling of gold from Gulf countries.One more incident came to light on Saturday.Customs officials on Saturday seized 25 gold biscuits  in a flight bound for Saudi Arabia at the Rajiv Gandhi International airport.It was around 2.8 kgs in weight and nearly costs one crore.

No arrests have been taken so far and officials suspects smugglers hand behind the gold.Police suspects that smugglers left the gold in flight after scaring about checks at entry point.

After the flight landed in Hyderabad, the accused was scared at the thought of being caught and left the gold in the flight. The Gold Biscuits were hid under the passenger’s seat and nobody has claimed them yet.Police investigating the list of passengers to get more detaisl about the case.Probably, this is one of the biggest seizure of smuggled gold from the Shamshabad airport in recent times.
