4 Ministers In Karnataka Self-Quarantined Post Contacting COVID-19 Patient

In a quick turn of events, four Ministers from Karnataka went to home quarantine following the video journalist in a regional channel with whom they came in contact tested positive for the COVID-19 virus.

Deputy CM Ashwathnarayan, tourism minister CT Ravi, medical education minister Sudhakar, home minister Basavaraj Bommai are the four Ministers who went to home quarantine though they tested negative for the virus.

Going into detail, the video journalist tested positive for the COVID-19 on the 24 of April and he met these four Ministers on 21st and 24th of April. As a result, 40 members who came in contact with the journalist were sent to quarantine centers accordingly.

'I will inform my colleagues that they will have to be in home quarantine as they are primary contacts. I didn't know they are out. Only after you told me, I got to know. I shall speak to them immediately,' Health minister Sriramulu said.

The toll of the positive cases in the state stood at 535 with 3 cases reported in Karnataka as of 8 am. To date 216 have recovered from the virus and discharged from the hospitals while 21 fatalities of COVID-19 were reported.
