40 Doctors And Medical Staff At AIIMS Were At Self-Quarantine

The novel coronavirus is spreading its deadly wings in India as the positive cases have surpassed 23,000 in the country. After Media persons and Sanitation staff now the virus has hit the doctors at the AIIMS.

Going into details, 40 doctors and medical staff working at the Delhi AIIMS were directed by the authorities to go for self-quarantine following a male nurse working at the hospital testing positive for the virus.

The samples of the patients where the nurses worked were also collected and sent for further medical examinations. While 22 of the patients tested negative, the reports of the remaining patients were awaited.

The male nurse who tested positive for the virus approached the doctors after he got a fever. He went for medical examinations on Wednesday as he was given the duty on Monday.

"As he was having post duty off on Monday, he went for testing on Wednesday and his results came out to be positive on Wednesday night. Everybody came to know about this on Thursday," a doctor at AIIMS said.
