AP Government is seriously considering the proposal for the construction of a 4-lane or 6-lane road between new capital Amaravati & Rayalseema region.

During a review meeting with R&B Department at Camp Office, Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu suggested officials to prefer 4-lane roads for Anantapur, Kurnool and Kadapa. He then adds, 'Make it a 6-lane road from the meeting point of these three roads to Amaravati'.

The current distance between Anantapur and Amaravati is 472 km. A highway would be constructed in such a way that the distance gets reduced by at least 86 km and the travelling time will be below 5 hours. CM advised Officials to make sure forest area wasn't affected in any way in the process.

Proposal of 4-lane Highway from Krishnapatnam via Raavuru, Kadapa, Chitvelu, Thadipatri, Guthi to Bengaluru-Hyderabad National Highway. A beach corridor is likely to come up between Icchapuram and Thada.
