Update: 2015-04-28 03:49 GMT
TRS Government will have to conduct long-delayed Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) Elections by this year itself after the High Court issued orders in this regard.

The Hyderabad High Court directed State Government and State Election Commission to finish off the election process to GHMC on or before December 15th, 2015.

A division bench comprising Chief Justice Kalyan Jyoti Sengupta and Justice PV Sanjay Kumar also ordered Telangana Government to complete delimitation of divisions and reservation of divisions to SC, ST and BC by October 31st. GHMC Polls should be held within 45 days thereafter.

Forum for Good Governance moved High Court against the delay in GHMC Elections inspite of expiry of elected council. The court have delivered its judgement in favour of the petitioner.

KCR has been strategically delaying polls to the GHMC. He wishes make TRS as strong as possible in the Greater Hyderabad region by wooing leaders of the Opposition Parties before conducting the election. With the directive from court, KCR has to achieve his target within 8 months from now.
