A Dozen New Faces in Modi Cabinet

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is all set for a major cabinet reshuffle Tomorrow. Around 10 Ministers have submitted their resignations already. This include Uma Bharti, Nirmala Sitharaman, Bandaru Dattatreya, Sanjeev Balyan, Rajiv Pratap Rudy, Kalraj Mishra and Faggan Singh Kulaste.

As per media reports, At least 12 new faces will be inducted into the Narendra Modi cabinet with the third and last reshuffle of NDA-1. This cabinet expansion is being done with an eye on 2019 General Elections.

Responsibility of additional portfolios currently handled by Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, Rural Development Minister Narendra Singh Tomar, Textiles Minister Smriti Irani and Science & Technology Minister Harsh Vardhan. Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu might be made Defence Minister and Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari could be moved to Railway Ministry.

MPs Ram Madhav, Suresh Angadi, Prahlad Joshi, Muralidhar Rao, Satyapal Singh and Prahlad Patel might get cabinet berths. In JD (U) Quota, RCP Singh and Santosh Kumar might get a chance. AIADMK is unlikely to receive cabinet rank.
