In India, Government has decided to link every public service with Aadhar card to make it an alternate for social security number in countries like USA.
With this idea, all the bank accounts, LPG subsidies and other important services, have been made compulsory to link with Aadhar. While on back accounts Government did take a back step, still for many services to be available to a citizen of India, Aadhar has become a must.
Right now, you may have to link your Facebook accounts to Aadhar cards as well. But there is a slight difference here.
Don't panic, your Aadhar details are not required to Facebook and no information will be asked that is too personal. Only, to regulate the accounts that use Facebook with real names, Facebook came up with this idea.
According to this, you will be asked to enter your name as it is in Aadhar card and only your name will be asked. You don't have to enter your number and other details.
This fun feature is currently being tested on few selected users and based on their feedback, Facebook will make it available to others too.
As off now, Facebook is facing many allegations that they are interfering in private life of account holders but this will not be such service and it will be highly optional, that is, you can continue with your fake name if you wish to, but if you want to enter your real name as in Aadhar then you can use this feature.
