South African skipper Ab de Villiers has added yet another feather to his cap. This destructive right-handed batsman has broke former India Captain Sourav Ganguly's record of 'Fastest to reach 8,000 runs in ODIs'.
Ab de Villiers broke Ganguly's record with his match-winning innings of 64 in the 3rd ODI against New Zealand in Durban Yesterday. While Sourav Ganguly scored 8,000 runs in 200 innings, Ab de Villiers achieved the milestone in just 182 innings, that's 18 innings quicker than Ganguly and 28 innings quicker than Sachin Tendulkar.
Notably, Ab de Villiers already holds the World Records for Fastest Fifty (16 balls), Fastest Century (31 balls) and Fastest 150 (64 balls) in ODIs. He also hit 16 sixes in an ODI innings, equalling the record of Indian cricketer Rohit Sharma against Australia in 2013. Many more records will be shattered by this dashing batsman if he continues his International career for few more years.
