Sonali Mukherjee, an acid attack survivor, tied the knot with Electrical Engineer Chittaranjan Tiwari 13 Years after she was attacked.
In 2003, 3 Men poured acid on 17-Year-Old College Student Sonali Mukherjee's face while she was sleeping in her home in Dhanbad of Jharkhand for refusing their sexual advances. While her face turned disfigured, She became partially deaf & blind after this attack.
Sonali's Father sold out everything including land, cattle and jewellery for all the 22 surgeries she underwent. She appeared on Kaun Banega Crorepati along with her celebrity partner Lara Dutta in 2012 and won Rs 2.5 million. Sonali is currently working as a school teacher.
Sonali met Chittaranjan Tiwari who was inspired by the courage and spirit of the lady. They fell in love and married recently after which she declared Chittaranjan has changed her life forever.
