A stir by Kapu community members seeking reservation under BC category turned violent in Tuni of Andhra Pradesh. There were several doubts in political and media circles about the involvement of anti-social elements in the attacks.
Now confirming the incident, state Additional Director General of Police R P Thakur said that the incident was pre-planned. Addressing media Thakur suspected foul play in the happenings and asked police to maintain calm until things got settled.
Thakur claimed that police helped the passengers in train and rescued their lives. He said that there was no failure of intelligence in the matter and added that strict action will be taken on the people who were behind the attack.
Meanwhile the issue getting murkier day by day. As per reports a person ended his life in Kakinada of East Godavari. He hanged himself and he left a suicide note in which he demanded BC status to the Kapu's.
