Afridi - Give up Captaincy or Announce Retirement?

Update: 2016-03-22 07:40 GMT
Pakistan Cricket Board Chairman Shaharyar Khan officially announced that Shahid Afridi would be sacked as skipper after the ongoing ICC World T20. He informed that PCB and Afridi had reached an understanding long before that the flamboyant al-rounder would retire after T20 World Cup in India.

Mr.Khan defended Shahid Afridi's appointment as a skipper by describing him as an iconic personality who had won matches for Pakistan single handedly in the past. He opined criticism against the skipper after losing a match against India is quite natural.

The PCB Chief told PCB will take a final call on selection of Shahid Afridi if he changed his mind and willing to offer his services to the country even after the tournament. He also informs PCB is contemplating on replacing coach Waqar Younis after ICC World T20 and doesn't rule out possibility of appointing a foreign coach. He also brushes aside the reports of group war in Pakistan Team.
