The ruling YSRCP registered a resounding win in the recently held Panchayat elections in Andhra Pradesh. YSRCP has also crushed the opposition Telugu Desam Party(TDP) in its stronghold Kuppam, Assembly constituency of Chandrababu Naidu.

After Chandrababu Naidu, its Actor-turned-politician Nandamuri Balakrishna's turn to face a rude shock with the election result. The YSRCP candidates have won a lion share of panchayats.

Hindupur Assembly constituency represented by Nandamuri Balakrishna comprises 38 Gram Panchatays. The candidates fielded by the ruling YSRCP have won 30 Gram Panchayat in a major embarrassment to TDP.

Hindupur is a stronghold position for Telugu Desam Party(TDP). Before Balakrishna, his father, TDP founder, and former Chief Minister of erstwhile Andhra Pradesh late Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao represented Hindupur.

Before the elections, everyone thought that TDP will have a cakewalk in Hindupur in the Panchayat elections. But the voters in the constituency have different plans.

It's a wake-up call for TDP and leaders that the upcoming elections are going to be the testing time for them. They have to work hard to maintain the stronghold areas.

Former Penukonda Legislator BK Parthasaradhi has also faced a jolt with the election result. The YSRCP candidates have won 71 Gram Panchayats out of 80 positions in Penkonda.
