New Covid-19 strain: After Maharashtra, one More State Imposes Night Curfew!
The new strain of Coronavirus has raised many fears and concerns over the virus spread across the globe. Many nations have canceled flight services to the United Kingdom as a bid to tackle the situation.
As a precautionary measure, Maharashtra has imposed a night curfew in the state till January 5 from December 22. Now one more Indian state too imposed a night curfew as a precautionary measure.
Karnataka became the second Indian state to announce restrictions on public movement during night times to see that the new strain will not enter the state.
News Agency Prest Trust of India(PTI) reported that Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa said that night curfew will be imposed in the state. The curfew will come into effect from today and last till the 2nd of January. The curfew will be active between 10 PM to 6 AM.
Talking about the night curfew, Karnataka Health Minister Dr. K Sudhakar said, the decision was taken as a preventive measure to contain the new strain that was found in the United Kingdom.
He added that, despite the night curfew, a ban will not be imposed on inter-state travel, and schools for class 10 and class 12 will be reopened from the 1st of January as per the schedule.
