After Resignation, Modi Takes Over Raju's Portfolio!

Update: 2018-03-09 09:14 GMT
President Ramnath Kovind accepted the resignations of Union Civil Aviation Minister Ashok Gajapathi Raju and Minister of State for Science & Technology Sujana Chowdary.

Rashtrapati Bhawan confirmed Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself will handle the crucial Civil Aviation Portfolio from now onwards. Civil Aviation Ministry has achieved remarkable results during Ashok Gajapathi Raju's three-and-a-half years term.

Chances of offering MoS for Science & Technology portfolio to one of the BJP's alliance partners look bright. Either JD (U) or AIADMK could get lucky.

Even after the phone conversation with PM Modi on Thursday, AP CM Chandrababu Naidu remained firm on his decision to step out of Union Cabinet because of mounting pressure from the Telugu people. The resignations were accepted within hours after they had been submitted.
