Update: 2021-09-12 06:34 GMT
Days ahead of the start of the second half of the Indian Premier League (IPL), the list of the England players who are making themselves unavailable for the tournament is increasing. Three more England players said they will not be available for the IPL.

Dawid Malan, Jonny Bairstow, and Chris Woakes announced that they will be unavailable for the tournament. Following this, the IPL franchises are working on the replacements of the players.

It is said that the players' trio was mentioned in the England squad of the T20 World Cup. They might even represent England in the forthcoming Ashes as well. As playing the back-to-back tournaments will leave a toll on the mental health of the players, the trio decided to stay out of the tournament.

However, it is also said that the England players are making themselves unavailable for the IPL as the fifth test was reportedly forced to be canceled due to the Indian team. While England wanted to forfeit the match, India said it will play the match. However, the series ended in a draw.

Earlier, Jos Buttler, Jofra Archer, and Ben Stokes announced that they will not be a part of the forthcoming IPL season. This makes the count of the England players in the tournament 10.
