AIADMK passed a resolution stating election of TTV Dhinakaran as Deputy General Secretary isn't valid. Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi Palanisamy, who is one of the 26 Office Bearers who signed the resolution, declared Dhinakaran holds no post in AIADMK and appointments made by him doesn't make any sense. He claimed AIADMK will continue to treat Amma as the permanent General Secretary, shutting the doors for VK Sasikala Natarajan.
This development cleared the major hurdle for the merger of Two Factions led by Palanisamy and O Panneerselvam. Panneerselvam will be the head of the Committee which takes care of party activities. Three Members from each factions will be nominated to the Panel.
Merger is likely to materialize after the meeting of Palanisamy and Panneerselvam with Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday. A Meeting is being held with AIADMK Ministers and Senior Leaders Today to work on the measures to be taken for smooth merger. CM Palanisamy hinted disciplinary action against those Leaders backing Dhinakaran.
