DMK Working President MK Stalin Today demanded AIADMK to support No Confidence Motion moved by AP Parties against the NDA Government. He suggested this opportunity should be utilized to address the Cauvery Water issue.
Stalin advised Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Palaniswami to support No Trust Motion so that pressure could be applied on Centre for setting up Cauvery Management Board (CMB) and Cauvery Regulatory Committee (CWRC) at the earliest. 'Supreme Court ordered Centre to set up CMB and CWRC within six weeks. But, Centre kept delaying it in view of the upcoming Karnataka Assembly Polls. DMK would have certainly supported AP's No Confidence Motion had if we had representation in the Lok Sabha,' he said.
In 2014 Lok Sabha Polls, DMK faced a huge setback. It wasn't even able to win in a single Parliament Segment. While AIADMK won 37 MP Seats, BJP and PMK managed one each.
On Friday, Speaker adjourned the House after reading the notices of No Confidence Motion citing the House isn't in order. Protests of TRS and AIADMK MPs in the well led to this situation.
