Air India issued a circular to cabin crew saying only vegetarian hot meals will be served in the economy class on its domestic flights with flying time between 61 to 90 minutes.
This decision of the National carrier triggered an uproar on Social Media. People began wondering what's the logic behind avoiding non-veg food during shorter flights and some even questioned does chicken sandwich takes more time to serve than paneer.
Union Minister of State for Civil Aviation issued a clarification saying non-veg wasn't served on the domestic flights with below 90 minutes flying time earlier too. He added, Only the cold snacks will be replaced by hot meals from January 1st and the rest will remain the same.
Air India Flights were operated in 5 Categories on Domestic Sectors - Breakfast, Lunch, High-Tea, Dinner and Supper.
