Ajit Jogi who served as the first Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh died at the age of 74 years who was admitted to the hospitals a few days back. The leader had been in the hospital for three weeks who had two cardiac arrests in the last week.
Ajit's son Amit Jogi took to Twitter to share the sad news.
"20 year old Chhattisgarh has lost a patriarch. Not just me, but Chhattisgarh and its citizens have lost a father," read his Tweet.
Looking at his political career Ajit Jogi the former Congress Leader served as the first Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh when the state was carved out of Madhya Pradesh in the year 2000.
Ajit Jogi bid goodbye to Congress party in the year 2016 and formed his own party Janata Congress Chhattisgarh(J). His party failed a emerge victorious in the 2018 elections.
