YSR offered 4 Percent Quota not Congress: Owaisi

Update: 2017-11-09 05:12 GMT
The 80-minute speech of MIM Floor Leader Akbaruddin Owaisi in Telangana Assembly became a hot topic now. This MIM Legislator had given no credit to Congress Party either in statehood formation or four percent reservation for Muslims.

Akbaruddin Owaisi told Congress can't claim credit for Telangana formation as the statehood became a reality only because of the pressure mounted by KCR with his political strategies. He even said it was YS Rajasekhar Reddy who offered four percent quota for Muslims not Congress. 'If it was Congress which offered the quota, Why didn't the national party provide Muslim quota in other states where it's been in power? YSR offered the reservation as MIM exerted pressure on his Government. Such quota wasn't implemented elsewhere as there was no MIM in other states,' he opined.

The MIM MLA ridiculed Congress by saying it managed to win just 1 out 150 divisions in GHMC Polls. In response, Congress Members shouted they had indeed won two divisions in the election.

When Akbaruddin declared TRS & MIM would jointly retain power in 2019 Polls, CM KCR, TRS and MIM MLAs thumped the desks appreciating the announcement.
