AY is our next Chief Minister: Mulayam Singh

Update: 2017-01-10 07:31 GMT
Offering an olive branch to his son following the fallout over release parallel list of party candidates for upcoming Assembly polls, Samajwadi Party founder Mulayam Singh announced that Akhilesh Yadav will continue to be the CM of Uttar Pradesh after the elections. He claims there is no dispute what-so-ever with Akhilesh Yadav.

Mulayam made it clear Samajwadi Party stays united for the sake of Uttar Pradesh. He ruled out any chances of partition into two despite Akhilesh Yadav's revolt. He declares poll campaigning of SP begins shortly.

The SP Patriarch blames his Cousin & Akhilesh Yadav's loyalist Ramgopal Yadav for the present crisis. He, however, is confident of resolving the issue once he is back in Lucknow.

Both Mulayam and Akhilesh stake claim of party's Cycle symbol following the rift. EC asked them to prove their majority in MLAs, MPs and MLCs. Akhilesh who controls majority of the party lawmakers has already given a representation with the signatures of those who support him. As EC is likely to grant Cycle symbol to Akhilesh's Faction, Mulayam Singh has taken a U-Turn now.
