Star Hero donates Rs 90 lakh for Drought-hit Farmers

Bollywood star Akshay Kumar has come forward to help the Drought-stricken Farmers of Marathwada region in Maharashtra.

Akshay Kumar pledged to donate Rs 90 lakhs for the families of farmers who have committed suicide following severe drought in the region. This amount will be distributed in a span of 6 months. In the first phase, Rs 15 lakhs was offered to the farmers in Beed district on September 15th.

Nana Patekar was the first actor from Bollywood to offer his hard-earned money for families of farmers who committed suicide in Maharashtra. He even formed a foundation to offer financial help to drought-stricken farmers families with the funds collected from people. When the actor reached Registrar's office to register his organisation, Several people contributed to the cause as much as they can. Even a Tea Seller who works in the locality offered Rs 2,000 from his pocket.

Hopefully, The Humanitarian Side of Nana Patekar and Akshay Kumar inspire many more people to join the movement.
