Who broke Sachin's World Record?

England skipper Alastair Cook emerges as the youngest cricketer to score 10,000 runs in Tests by shattering the record set by Sachin Tendulkar. He achieved this feat during the fourth day of Second Test Match against sRI Lanka on Monday.

Cook got out in the First Innings for just 15 runs, which made his fell short of the milestone by just 5 runs. He, however, managed to complete the task in the Second Innings.  

While Sachin scored 10,000 runs when he was 31 Years and 326 Days, Cook managed to join the elite club in 31 Years and 157 Days. Still, Sachin remains as the best because he reached the landmark in 195 innings against Cook's 226 innings.

Alastair Cook is only the 12th Player to score 10,000 runs in Test Cricket. He have made 28 centuries so far playing for England. Interestingly, Cook's Test debut was against India in 2006 and he scored a century in his maiden match.
