Born in Fazilka of Punjab, Shubnam Gill is the son of Lakshwinder Singh. His passion for cricket made his family shift to Mohali from their hometown. 'My Son used to play with bat and ball even while going to bed. We kept supporting him and even skipped family functions to dedicate as much time as possible,' says the Proud Father.
Shubnam Gill faced lot of hardships to balance education and cricket. He used to practice at least four hours daily. Eating Food, Hitting Gym, Practice Session and Sleep, that's how his daily routine is like.
In Under-16 District Tourney, Gill scored 356 runs in an innings. Representing Punjab, He achieved double ton in the Vijay Merchant Trophy. In the Under-19 ODI against England, He made 147 runs in a match.
Consistency made Shubnam Gill a key member in Under-19 Team. He scored one century and three half-centuries in the four matches played before the final. In the final, He got out for 31 runs.
