Amaravati to be made a new Municipal Corporation covering larger Urban Area!

The ruling YSRCP led by Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has wiped out the recently held Municipal and Corporation elections. The government had won the Municipalities of Tadepalli and Mangalagiri and the Guntur Municipal Corporation.

Despite the ongoing Amaravati protests, the party had won the Municipalities. Now it is said that the government has started its groundwork to make the Amaravati, the capital region as a new Municipal Corporation.

As per the media reports, Special Chief Secretary (CS) to the Government, Y Srilakshmi has issued a notification to bring the capital region under a new Municipality on Tuesday.

It is also said that as per the government's proposal, the Tadepalli and Mangalgiri Municipalities will be merged together to form Mangalagiri-Tadepalli municipal corporation. A few parts of the Amaravati region would be merged in the new Corporation.

11 Gram Panchayats and 10 Gram Panchayats of the Amaravati region were merged into Mangalagiri and Tadepalli Municipalities respectively going by the orders issued by the government.

It is said that the government opted to form "Mangalagiri Tadepalli Municipal Corporation" after the Municipal Councils of Mangalaigiri and Tadeppali came up with a proposal to form a new Municipality.
