After a long battle, Amazon Prime Video's India head Aparna Purohit got a major sigh of relief with the Supreme Court directed that she shall not be arrested in Tandav row and asked her to cooperate with the investigation, media reports claimed.

Aparna Purohit moved the Supreme Court challenging the orders of Allahabad High Court orders to refuse her anticipatory bail in the controversy. The SC heard the petition yesterday and adjourned the hearing for today.

Hearing the case, the SC gave a relief stating that the guidelines issued by the government on the social media and OTT platforms have no teeth and there is no power for prosecution.

The Supreme Court opinioned that the guidelines issued by the Central government don't provide any provision to take action against digital streaming platforms and take action against them.

As a response to the SC's statement, Solicitor General Tushar Mehta, who represented the Union Government told the Court that the government would take the required steps in this regard and the same guidelines will be submitted to the court.

Tandav Web Series streamed on Amazon Prime Video landed in a controversy for allegedly hurting Hindu sentiments. 10 FIRS were filed against the actors and director of the web series along with Aparna Purohit.

While a few actors in B-town have supported the Tandav web series, Kangana Ranaut lashed out at the series and actors who acted in it. She even took a step and said, it's "time to take their heads off".

The other day, the Supreme Court said, a few OTT platforms at times show pornography and a mechanism should be brought to screen the content that appears on OTT platforms.
