In the previous edition of IPL, the Chennai Super Kings team made a big comeback and lifted the trophy by crushing KKR. Fans expected a similar performance from the team this season as well but in vain. The team is officially out of the tournament and the yellow army cannot reach the playoffs.
Making it a tough season for the CSK fans, Dhoni stepped down as the skipper and Ravindra Jadeja was made the captain of the team. Sadly, he could not fit into the big shoes, and CSK recorded back-to-back losses. Later, Dhoni was made the skipper again and Jadeja was ruled out of the tournament due to medical reasons.
As another twist, Ambati Rayudu announced that this season would be his last tournament. Saying that he had a wonderful season having played for two big teams Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kinds, he thanked both the teams for the support.
"I am happy to announce that this will be my last IPL. I have had a wonderful time playing it and being a part of 2 great teams for 13 years. Would love to sincerely thank Mumbai Indians and CSK for the wonderful journey," Telugu cricketer tweeted.
Minutes after posting the tweet, Ambati Rayudu removed it and almost gave a heart attack to fans. Reacting to it, the CSK management said that due to the failure in this tournament Rayudu might have made the made and they made it clear that Rayudu will stay with CSK.
