Amid the frenzied debate as to whether Telangana will go for early polls, here is an indication from no less a person than BJP National President Amit Shah that there indeed would be early polls in Telangana. Amit Shah has told the BJP cadre in the state to be ready for snap polls.
En route to Mantralayam to participate in the coordination meet of the RSS and its affiliates, including the BJP, Amit Shah met some key BJP leaders at Shamshabad airport. He told the party leaders that there would be early polls in Telangana and that the party workers should be prepared for them. But what he said next was very significant. He told the state leaders to fight the TRS, while the Centre will adopt a friendly approach towards it. This came as a shock to the BJP leaders, who have been complaining that in Telangana, the BJP is seen as a subsidiary of the TRS. They are questioning as to how they could fight the TRS, when the Central leadership maintains friendly relations. This will damage the party, the leaders feel. But, they are at loss to understand the BJP chiefâs strategy.
