News website 'The Wire' published a report accusing BJP President Amit Shah's son Jay Shah of indulging in corrupt practices. It's been reported that Mr.Jay received undue benefits from Government and Banks after BJP formed the government in 2014.
The Wire alleges Jay Shah's Firm received Rs 15 crore loan soon after BJP came to power though it's been in losses for many years. The Website says Jay's another company obtained Rs 25 crore from Gujarat Cooperative Bank, then it was transformed into a renewable energy outfit and received Rs 10.35 crore loan from the Power Ministry.
Union Minister Piyush Goyal, however, condemned the allegations and clarified all the loans were granted in accordance with the existing laws on commercial rates of interest. Jay Shah is mulling to file a Rs 100 crore defamation suit against the Website.
Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi responded: 'We finally found the only beneficiary of Demonetisation. It's not the RBI, the poor or the farmers. It's the Shah-in-Shah of Demo. Jai Amit'.
Congress Leader Kapil Sibal questioned whether if Modi is honest enough to order for a CBI probe on the alleged irregularities.
