Amit Singh, An Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP), committed suicide by shooting self with his service revolver at his flat in Sector 100 of New Delhi. This incident happened at around 9.30 PM on Monday night.
After hearing the gun shot, Amit Singh's Wife Sarita shouted for help. Immediately, Security Guards and Neighbours rushed to the flat of the Police Office. Knowing that Mr.Singh is no more, She tried to commit suicide by shooting herself with the same gun but Neighbours prevented it. Then, She ran towards balcony and jumped from the fourth floor of the apartment.
Sarita was rushed to a private hospital and her condition is very critical. The couple have a 18-month-old Daughter.
Amit Singh is posted with the Special Cell of Delhi Police. He lives with his family at Flat No.403 of Lotus Boulevard Society.
