Amitabh Bachchan is firmly against the manner in which Copyright Laws work in India. The Iconic Actor couldn't digest the fact that he couldn't claim ownership of his Father & Renowned Poet Harivansh Rai Bachchan's works 60 years after the creator passed away.

As per Copyright Act 1957, Amitabh will have the right over Harivansh Rai's works only till 60 years from the date of his Father's Death. Angry over the Act, Big B questioned: 'Who designed 60 Years? Why 60? why not 61? Why not perpetuity? Who did this intellectual legality.. at what context. RUBBISH! I OPPOSE, DISAGREE, LAMENT, DISPUTE, BE IN VARIANCE OF, IN VEHEMENT LOUD SCREAMS OF VOICE.. EVER'.

The Bollywood Star asserts none could deny him ownership over Harivansh Rai's literary works. 'I am genetically My Father's Son. I shall not and will not allow its dilution to general public,' he maintains, mentioning there were no rightful heirs of William Shakespeare and Rabindranath Tagore because of lack of proper records & lack of awareness about copyright.

Harivansh Rai Bachchan penned many famous poems including Madhushala. His Hindi translations of Bhagvad Gita, Shakespeare's Othello and Macbeth are very popular. Harivansh's lash poem 'Ek November 1984' was based on Indira Gandhi Assassination.
