Former Kerala leg-spinner KN Ananthapadmanabhan has been included to the International Cricket Council's (ICC) international panel of umpires.
The 50-year-old joins fellow Indians C Shamshuddin, Anil Chaudhary and Virender Sharma in the international panel and he will be the fourth Indian umpire on the international panel.
Ananthapadmanabhan played 105 First-Class and 54 List A games for Kerala, taking 344 and 87 wickets respectively. He also scored three First-Class hundreds and eights half-centuries.
Two years after retiring from first-class cricket in 2004, the domestic stalwart joined the BCCI panel. Ananthapadmanabhan has officiated as an on-field umpire in 71 matches in Ranji Trophy, 37 in Vijay Hazare Trophy, 70 in Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy and 20 in IPL.
