The liquor shops which were shut in Andhra Pradesh from more than one month due to the nationwide lockdown imposed with the increase in the number of the positive cases of COVID-19 were reopened in the state yesterday.
With this, the liquor shops queued up at the liquor outlets. To discourage the public from buying alcohol, the YS Jagan Mohan Reddy led Andhra Prades government has decided to hike the prices by 25%.
This did not stop the public from buying alcohol even though the prices were increased by 25%. Following this, the AP government decided to increase the liquor prices by 50% more.
With this, the liquor prices will be increased by a whopping 75% in the state and the new prices will come into effect from today. Letâs hope that this new development will discourage the public from buying alcohol.
