Why AP Govt granted 1 Week Leave for Employees?

Update: 2016-09-18 06:53 GMT
AP Government planned to shift its Employees to interim Secretariat at Velagapudi in new capital Amaravati by June 2nd this year. However, the process only got delayed due to the lack of sufficient infrastructure, heavy rains and Krishna Pushkarams.

Already, About 15 Departments have relocated to Vijayawada and Guntur. Close to 7,200 employees have reported to work so far. Around 5,000 more employees would join them by next week as AP Government set September 19th as the deadline.

AP Employees shifting to the new capital could avail travel advance facility. One week leave would be sanctioned to all the Employees who report to Amaravati on September 19th, only to provide them sufficient time to settle down.

State Government is firm on kickstarting the work from temporary secretariat constructed at Velagapudi from October 1st.
