Andhra High Court, Metropolitan Court Suspends Functioning For Three Days
Given the outbreak of the ongoing pandemic, the Andhra Pradesh High Court has suspended all the functions till the 28th of June halting the functioning of the court for three days.
The High Court Registrar issued an official statement in this regard. As per the statement, the court took this call going by the directions of the Chief Justice. Along with the High Court, the Metropolitan Sessions Judge's Unit of Vijaywada will also be suspended till 28th June.
The High Court suspending its operations when some key cases were expected to be heard by the court gained severe criticism. The sharp rise in positive cases of the virus in Vijayawada forced the court to take this call.
Irrespective of the status, all the Employees and staff members working at the High Court and Vijayawada metropolitan court will be tested for the deadly virus as a precautionary measure.
