Even a pay hike of up to 40 percent didn't bring a smile on the faces of Andhra Pradesh lawmakers. While many of them didn't dare to complain about it openly fearing backlash from people, One MLA came forward to express his dissatisfaction.

BJP Legislator P Vishnu Kumar Raju made it clear that most of the MLAs were't happy with meagre pay hike. He opined the current salaries weren't sufficient if one wishes to be clean in Politics as the hike is no were close to the rising expenses.

AP MLAs have other reason to complain. While MLAs in Telangana receive Rs 2.75 lakh as basic salary, Their AP Counterparts were paid just not even half of that amount (Rs 1.25 lakh). There is a vast difference in allowances as well, while Telangana and AP Legislators receive Rs 2 lakh and Rs 1 lakh each respectively.

Some of the Andhra MLAs even demand either Special Allowance or House Sites in AP Capital as they don't have accommodation anywhere near Vijayawada.
