Andhra Pradesh, which has been reporting the highest spike of cases in a single day every other day reported a record single-day cases yet again with 2,592 fresh infections taking the toll of the cases to 40,646.
In the last 24 hours, as many as 20,245 samples were tested for the virus and 2,602 infections were found. Out of the fresh cases, 2,592 were of locals, while 8 Returnees of other states and 2 Foreign Returnees contacted the virus.
On the other hand, 42 people succumbed to the contagious disease in the past 24 hours and the total fatalities in connection with the virus in the state zoomed to 534.
On a brighter note,20,298 people managed to recover from the respiratory disease so far including, 943 fresh recoveries reported in 24 hours. The active cases stood at 19,814 in the state.
Kurnool(5151), East Godavari(4,505) and Guntur(4,330) contain the more number of infections when compared to the other districts. These districts account for one-third of the total infections.
