YSRCP Has Last Laugh: Three Key IPS Officials Transferred

Update: 2019-03-27 04:13 GMT
In a sensational development, the Central Election Commission has transferred three key officials. All the three are police officials. They are Andhra Pradesh Intelligence director general Venkateswara Rao, Kadapa SP Rahul Dev Varma and Srikakulam Sp Venkataratnam. All the three were asked to report to the AP police headquarters.

The YSRCP has been accusing these three officers of working in such a manner as to benefit the ruling party. The party said the officials were showing a decidedly pro-TDP bias and demanded that they be shifted from their current positions. Of these three officials, Rahul Dev Varma was accused of working to benefit the TDP in the YS Vivekananda Reddy murder case. Similarly, the Srikakulam SP was seen as being pro-Atchen Naidu.

Taking cognisance of the complaints and based on the inquiries conducted, the election commission has decided to transfer the officials. The orders came into force with immediate effect.  This is being seen as a morale booster for the Opposition YSRCP, which has been clamouring for a change in the bureaucracy as it is heavily biased towards the ruling dispensation.
