In a piece of good news, Andhra Pradesh reported fewer single-day infections in the past 24 hours, compared to Monday, as less than 8,000 new people were found infected with the novel Coronavirus.
The total number of infections caused by the deadly respiratory disease in the state has mounted to 17,68,112, after as many as 7796 people had come in contact with the virus in 24 hours.
On the other hand, 14,641 patients have managed to recover from the virus and get discharged from the hospitals, taking the recoveries count in the state to 16,48,895. The active cases stood at 1,07,588.
The total Covid deaths in the state zoomed to 11629 after 77 patients breathed their last on June 8th. Chittoor reported the highest fatalities with 12 casualties in the last 24 hours.
Looking at the fresh cases, East Godavari reported the highest cases with 1302, followed by Chittor(1210), Anantapur(918), West Godavari(755), Vizag, and Guntur with 672 and 518 cases respectively.
