Andhra Pradesh to undergo another strict lockdown?

As the Covid impact is not over yet, Andhra Pradesh government has imposed night curfew and restrictions to fight the pandemic and the restrictions are underway.

Despite the preventive measures taken by the government and authorities, the cases are going up gradually in the regions of Godavari districts and Nellore district.

The Godavari districts are reporting more cases compared to other regions, as a result, strict restrictions were announced in the areas that are the hotspots for the virus.

Mandals like Chinturu and P. Gannavaram are placed under restrictions. Lockdown norms will be eased from 6 AM to 2PM. After that everything will come to a stand still.

The other region that is creating a lot of concerns is the Nellore district. More particularly Kavali division is reporting more Covid infections.

To see that the public won't gather in big numbers and the shop owners will also not have any issues, the shops were permitted to open till 5 PM.

The concerned authorities are not leaving any stone unturned to take the strict measures to contain the virus. Regions that report more cases are being changed into containment regions.

These developments have raised a new doubt whether Andhra Pradesh will undergo another statewide lockdown to tackle the virus spread.

However, there is no such announcement from the government so far. But the givy made it clear that the restrictions will be continued as the cases are going up.

The lockdown hours and restrictions are being prolonged in particular areas that are going through tough periods.

As the experts warned that children are likely to be vulnerable to the possible third wave of novel Coronavirus, the Andhra Pradesh government has focused on the facilities.

The process of arranging special hospitals and wards dedicated only for treating children has been ramped up by the state government.

On the other hand, the vaccination drive to administer the vaccine doses for the beneficiaries has also ramped up.

In the last 24 hours, Andhra Pradesh reported 2,498 fresh Coronavirus cases. The total number of cases increased to 19,44,222. With 19,07,201 patients beating the virus, the active cases stood at 23,843.
