The incident took place at Wistron's iPhone manufacturing plant at Narasapura near Bengaluru on Saturday. Around 2,000 workers of the plant have attacked the plant after their work shift.
The CCTV cameras installed in the office premises have captured the visuals of employees going on a rampage and smashing everything. Furniture, glasses, and cars were damaged in the violence.
Reports claimed that since a few months, the contractual workers have been paid fewer salaries than promised. Their working hours were also increased without prior notice.
The workers are said to made efforts to clear the issue by holding talks with the management. But the management has fired the workers who complained over the delay in salaries.
The situation reached a level that the cops had to rush to the spot and get the situation under control. After the cops started lathi-charge, the workers fled from the spot, but the cops got hold of more than 50 of them.
