Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh has commented on the status of Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput death case, which is being investigated by CBI. The case was initially being probed by the Mumbai Police to ascertain the cause of death. But later the investigation was handed over to the CBI by the Supreme Court of India.
Now, the Minister said that he is eagerly waiting for the findings of CBI inquiry into the death of Sushant. He alleged that even though Mumbai Police was probing the case professionally, it was suddenly handed over to CBI. He further said that people are waiting to know whether Sushant was murdered or he dies by suicide.
The Maharashtra government was not in favour of a CBI probe in the actor's suicide case initially and kept claiming that the Mumbai Police was doing their job in finding the real cause of the actor's death.
Apart from CBI, the case is jointly investigated by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) and the Enforcement Directorate (ED) after alleged drugs and money laundering angles.
