BCCI on Thursday named former Indian cricketer Anil Kumble as the head coach of Team India. The decision was announced at the time BCCI's annual cricket conclave is happening in Dharmsala. Which means, The Leg Spinner out performed 56 aspirants to bag the offer.
Kumble's one-year tenure as Team India head coach will begin with the upcoming tour of West Indies were India plays four Test Matches.
Although there were speculations about appointment of Ravi Shastri as Team India's batting coach, BCCI President Anurag Thakur clarified that the board hasn't chosen any coaching staff other than the head coach.
Anil Kumble, India's most successful bowler, took 619 Test and 33 ODI Wickets in his international career. The vast experience will come in handy when he coaches Team India.
