Anil Kumble resigns as Team India Coach

Legendary Spinner Anil Kumble had stepped down as the Coach of the Indian Cricket Team.

Actually, Kumble's 1 Year Contract as Team India coach ended with recently concluded ICC Champions Trophy 2017. Reports of differences of opinion between Kumble and Kohli surfaced after BCCI invited fresh applications for the post of Head Coach from aspirants. Virender Sehwag, Tom Moody, Richard Pybus, Dodda Ganesh and Lalchand Rajput were among those who filed applications to replace Kumble.

At one stage, There is clear indication that Anil Kumble could continue in the post even after ICC Champions Trophy if he is willing. However, The Former Cricketer decided not to serve as Head Coach anymore and even sent his resignation to BCCI.

In the past one year, India won 10 out of 13 Homes Tests. While two matches ended as draw, Men-in-Blue lost in the other game. Even Test Series in West Indies and ODI Series against New Zealand were won by India during this period. So, Kumble could always be proud of what he achieved as the Coach.
