Centre Comes With A Big Announcement On Covid-19 Vaccine Availability In India

When the country is eagerly waiting for a potential vaccine to cure the ongoing pandemic, a significant announcement came from the Centre over the arrival of the vaccine.

Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan addressed the media and spoke about three issues, the vaccine to cure the pandemic, re lockdown in the national capital, and the funds from the center to Delhi to tackle the Covid-19 situation.

Referring to the Covid-19 situation in the national capital, the Health Minister said, the Centre watching the situation in Delhi closely and the Union Territory will receive the necessary help from the centre.

When asked about the sudden rise in the fresh Covid-19 infections in the national capital, the Minister said the transaction period between lockdown and unlock led to the rapid rise in cases.

Given the situation in Delhi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah chaired a review meeting taking the initiative and asked CM and Governor to take all the required steps, the Minister maintained.  

Talking about vaccine availability, Harsh Vardhan said the vaccine would be rolled out by early 2021, and the Centre has been preparing for the past two to three months on for whom the vaccine should be arranged first.

We are making all the required plans to provide vaccines to 20 to 30 crore people by June-July-August next year, he added.

His comments on the availability of the Covid-19 vaccine came when India's tally of Covid-19 infections is nearing the 90 lakh mark with 89,58,484, while 1,31,578 people succumbed to the virus.
