AP Govt bags 5 national awards

Andhra Pradesh government  has bagged five prestigious Energy Conservation National Awards-2015 which were constituted by union Ministry of Power  Ajay Jain, Andhra Pradesh state Secretary of  Energy received a communication to this effect on from Secretary, Union Ministry of Power & Director General Bureau of Energy efficiency.

The awards were given for following the energy saving practices strictly and implementing of energy efficiency activities.This is for the first time that any state in the country has bagged all the awards.

Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu congratulated all the officials . It was just a month ago universal energy experts have praised and highlighted AP's bold initiatives in Energy Efficiency programs in in Paris Global Summit on climate change.

The awards will be handed over to Andhra Pradesh state  Government on December 14 at a function which will be held at New Delhi.

The awards won by AP government are:

1)Best State Designated Agency (SDA) for effectively monitoring for implementation of energy efficiency activities.

2)AP Southern Power Distribution Company (APSPDCL) has been chosen as the best DISCOM.

3)APSPDCL has also achieved Best Business Model for Energy Efficiency Activities.

4)Greater Vishakhapatnam Municipal Corporation (GVMC)  Is adjudged as best Urban Local Body for its LED Street Lighting programme.

5)GVMC also declared as best Business Model for Energy Efficiency Activities.
