Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu has offered financial aid to kin of Indian freedom fighter and designer of the national flag Pingali Venkayya. The descendants of national flag designer are living in dire poverty. Ghantasala Jayalakshmi, niece of the flag designer and G. Bhargava Rao, grandson, were seen begging at a temple.
Today Chandrababu accepted Pingali Venkayya's grandson petition at the CM's camp office in Vijayawada. He requested the government to provide them a house along with the pension to his mother.Naidu directed the officials to grant financial aid of Rs 25,000 to the freedom fighter's grandson immediately on behalf of the government.
The poverty of the Pingali Venkayya's kin came to light when a few residents of Eluru lodged a complaint against the two while they were taking shelter in a temple, without knowing who they were.Other side there was a huge rush at the camp office on Thursday and many people have rushed to camp office to visit CM.
