The Andhra Pradesh State Election Commissioner(SEC) Nimmagadda Ramesh Kumar has called for a video conference with the district officials on the Panchayat elections on Saturday, hours after announcing the election schedule.
However, Nimmaggada Ramesh Kumar faced a rude shock with the district collectors and other officials not showing up for the video conference. He has extended the video conference timing, but in vain.
According to the media reports, Nimmagadda Ramesh Kumar has fixed the video conference at 3 PM today. With the officials not attending the conference, he has extended the deadline to 5 PM from 3 PM.Even though the deadline was pushed ahead, the collectors and officials reportedly didn't show up for the video conference.
With the officials not attending the video conference, Nimmagadda Ramesh Kumar is said to have scheduled to meet Governor Biswabhusan Harichandan and complain about the officials. It has to be noted that the Andhra Pradesh government led by Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy is very firm on the decision to not go to the polls. Chief Secretary Adityanath Das has written to SEC.
In the letter, the CS said, the government is not ready to go to the polls, as the vaccine drive against the novel Coronavirus is underway and the officials are busy rendering their services in the drive.
